Open your web browser and navigate to trezor.io/start. This page provides the necessary tools and instructions for setting up your Trezor device.
The Trezor Suite is the official app for managing your Trezor device. Download the Trezor Suite for your operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux) from the website. Once downloaded, install the application on your computer.
Using the provided USB cable, connect your Trezor device to your computer. The Trezor Suite should automatically detect the connected device. If prompted, confirm the connection on your Trezor device by pressing the buttons.
In the Trezor Suite, select the option to initialize a new device. You will be guided through the setup process, which includes setting a PIN and creating a recovery seed. The recovery seed is crucial for recovering your wallet in case the device is lost or damaged.
Write down the 12 or 24-word recovery seed on the provided recovery card. Store this card in a secure and private location, as anyone with access to it can recover your wallet. Never share your recovery seed with anyone or store it digitally.
After securing your recovery seed, follow the remaining on-screen instructions to complete the setup process. You will be prompted to confirm your recovery seed by selecting the words in the correct order.
